Vanity Fair photo archive to go on show

Published November 21st, 2007

Celebrity photographs dating back to the launch of Vanity Fair are to go on show in Edinburgh and London.

The magazine began in Britain in 1860 and was bought by US publisher Conde Nast in 1913. Since then it has been a by-word for glamour.

The exhibition, which will be on at the National Portrait Gallery in London and then the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh, will include photographs of icons from Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson to Jean Harlow and Nijinsky.

The display will arrive in Scotland next summer.
